lone star snacks
when you're from texas, anything that doesn't come with meat in it, on it, or under it, is pretty much considered a snack. but if we're going with the new definition, then there are really only two kinds of snacks in texas: beef jerky and movie theater pickles.
(sorry to disappoint, but this jar is a cheat - it's the one in the hollywood video where i went to rent a movie with my parents when i was home last month. but they look pretty much the same as in the movie theaters nowadays. individually wrapped. and in a way, it's kind of extra good, because you can see that it's a big enough trend to warrant a "replica experience" at the hollywood video.)

snackers without borders
I don't mean to brag, but I went to CANADA last month. It's very European. Anyway, not to name-drop, but my boss Mark Williams IS Canadian and he asked me to bring him some Kit-Kat bars from up north, because apparently they are "less sweet and also less waxy". I chalked it up to his normal Eskimo crazy-talk or whatever but it turns out he is right. I did a little investigating and found out that they are made by Nestle instead of Hersey so they ARE better.
Check it out for yourself. You can get the Euro style ones at Tops in Williamsburg.
